Setting a Navien controller on a NPE unit
On a Navien NPE series unites there highly efficient condensing ones the controller needs to be set for proper operation. If it just an S2 model you only need to program the date and time, the gas type and altitude because there is no internal pump built into the unit. On the A2 models you will need to program the above plus the circulation method your customer would like.
As far as the factory reset this should only be performed by a licensed plumber trained in Navien Level 3 training.
I have found that the intelligent setting works the best out of all the settings.

How to install a Navien controller in a sheetrock wall
Просмотров 16214 дней назад
I get quite a few questions on controllers, and I figured let me show you how we install one in a sheetrock wall. Our installs are all about the fit and finish and we like to do 99% of them exactly the same. Surface boxes are all well and good but don't look clean. And if the customer wants to put or push back shelving the external box will be in the way. Like I said in the video sometimes you ...
Flushing a tankless heater on a job.

Proper piping for multiple Navien tankless heaters, First in Last out
Просмотров 323Месяц назад
I get a lot of questions about this, and I see a lot of improper installations on social media on what a great installation and the hot and cold-water piping is done the wrong way. When you are piping multiple tankless heaters together it is very important to pipe them in as first in last out, if not the unit with the cold water going into it first will do the lion's share of the work. It is al...
Proper condensate drain piping for a condensing tankless heater.

This is probably one of the most important parts of an installation of a condensing tankless heater. Without proper condensate piping the condensate will back up into the lower heat exchanger and leak out of the seam between the lower and upper exchanger. The example in this video needs to be followed to the letter. One of the first thing a tankless phone Teck will ask to see is the condensate ...

Hi Mike I think I may have gotten one wire mismatched when reconnecting wires after fan cleaning, everything started when I connected. Hot water ran longer than usual then whole system shut off but not breaker. Im wondering if I can just fix wiring and it will come back on. It is a bit hard to read the wiring diagram on my cover. Do you have any detailed pics of how the wiring colors go? Mine look exactly like your examples, its an RL04

Hi Mike, thank you so much for the video!! I think I have just about tried everything for my code 10 and still haven't solved it. So I could use your help! I have a RL75i interior mount with side wall vent (with no other vents or obstructions anywhere nearby) and I have almost always code 10s but have an 11 and 14 in the memory. The unit runs for about 5-10 min then the shower pressure will drop as the hot water stops flowing or it will turn cold. When I am at the unit, the system either appears to start with flame then shut off and restart repeatedly or when it gets cold I see a code 10 with continuous beeping. Thus far I have removed the vent pipe and found dirt dobber nests which I have cleaned, found on on the top of the coil, a gecko and bugs inside the fan which I purchased a new one along with the thermistor which was quite dirty. I pulled the burner and cleaned it with compressed air, blew out the coil from below and back through the air intake from the fan hole. I also replaced the gas manifold, view plate, electrode and flame rods. Almost forgot, I also flushed the system and the water filter was very clean. When I started the burner flame height was low and now is full height. What am I missing here? Please help! Thank you in advance.

I just performed my annual flush of my Rannai tankless as I have done in the past. Now when I turn it on, I get a code 11. Research indicates that it is a gas issue. However, the unit has been perfect for 6 years, and I always use the same flush procedures. Is it possible that some are got into the gas line and the unit need to be bled?

Checked outsidet to make sure the air inlet isn't covered (with debris or leaves). The PVC only runs about two feet total. the unit worked with the cover off, so I suspect it is an air supply issue, but can't figure out the air supply issue is because nothing is clogged -- unless it is the fan or fan speed control or pressure sensor for the fan. I also know it is NOT the gas supply because I can run the unit at full 200KBTU without any gas supply problems. It seems to be a problem with air supply at lower burner outputs. I put the cover back on and it has been fine for a few days. But I would like this fixed because it has occasionally happened.

Hey Mike, I have a Rinnai i120S boiler which I installed myself (x general contractor) that is 1 year old which has been working well until recently when there was a power outage. After the power came back on the boiler displays error code 371 (Indirect Tank Thermister ). From the manual's code list, this looks line a faulty thermister. I am only using the boiler to heat the house using radiant heat panels and am not using it for DHW heating. I have not made any changes to the control panel's DIP switches (all set to default OFF positions). The boiler is still heating the panels fine but the front display just keeps flashing the error code on and off in between it's regular display. Could the power surge have damaged the thermister and is displaying the error code because of the damage, even though I do not have an indirect water tank connected? I need to test the condition of the thermister but I don't know where it is located in the boiler. If it is damaged, I would need a part number and where to purchase the replacement. And finally as a note, I now have the boiler plugged into a new UPS which will hopefully give me enough time to run down to the basement and unplug the thing before the USP battery runs out and then the power is restored. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. I love your videos so much! Keep them coming!
